Kudos (I'm talking like 8 days too lol) to last week's 8 days for coming out with an annoying list, 50 new things that irritated them this year. I thought that the list was hilarious...and very real indeed. Especially the online section
32) People who live their lives on Facebook
"MICHELLE LIN is dating Marcus Tan and they just went to watch The Water Horse at Orchard Cineleisure and are off for dinner at Din Tai Fung."
We. Don't. Care Hahaha
33) People who post glamour shots-style self portraits on Facebook
'Coz we know you really look like Jabba the Hutt hahahaha
34) People who give themselves smart alecky nicknames on MSN
Like "Hung like a horse" or, "I'm not perfect...but it's cool". So clever. Yawn. This is especially true! I hate it when people on my list change their nicknames every other day and i have to rollover and check their email wondering who that is!
36)People who begin e-mails with "Hi hi"
Bye Bye. Haha this don't really annoy me that much..but the response is really quite funny.
I would love to meet the staffs of 8 days one day, they come out with the most amazing of information, funniest comments and one of the best photography. Keep it going guys!
It was Super Sunday weekend just this weekend and what a day of soccer it turned out to be. Met up with Sham, Henry and Nelson at Princep street looking forward to some football action but was disappointed when we found out that all the tables were filled up. Fortunately, one of Henry's friend came over at half time and saved us. He was watching at this cafe nearby and told us that there were enough seats for us. Of course, we went down and totally enjoyed the 2nd trashing of Liverpool by Manu and also the later match of Chelsea vs Arsenal. It was awkward all the way though because i was wearing my Manu Jersey and the cafe that we went to turned out to be a Chelsea Fan cafe. Luckily, i was given stares or anything like that and the night turned out the be great. What a night of football..i loved it!
Fellow Manu Fan Nelson. Missing fellow Manu fan Henry and Chelsea gig Sham

A drive up to Malacca!!
Nope i wasn't activated to find that damn pagan afterall, was pulled out eventually because there were enough people lol. Lucky me! But that did disrupted my initial plan of going to KL for F1 or diving though.
In the end, we decided to just visit Malaysia for one day. Met up with Valencia and Puss at Boon Keng MRT station at around 11am on Good Friday morning. From there, we made our way to the 2nd Link to embark on our short vacation. On the way there, Puss suggested that we go to Malacca and that's precisely what we did! I drove more than 300km there and got there in about 3 hours.
Road trip
To be honest, its my first Malacca visit my whole life. We found a RM2 whole day parking and left my car there. From there our journey continued all on foot.
Took this while waiting for Puss to change some money. Oh and please change some Ringgit before you enter Malaysia! Because the Toll boothes exchange rate is S$1 for RM1!
Some gantry there
One of the many Chinese temples in a state where there's a significantly large population of Chineses (including Peranakans)
Our walk along the street in search for our long awaited lunch!
Puss recommended this Peranankan same eatery
Even our President SR.Nathan went there! There is a photo evidence on their wall
Gives a very homely feeling...sort of
We had to take a photo of course
And another
They're sort of famous for their Popiah. And this auntie is preparing one for us here
The popiah. I didn't touch it of course
The feast we ordered for ourselves
When you're hungry, you think that you can eat a cow
It was good! Tasted even better after enduring hunger for a 3 long hours drive!
Then we went jalan jalan
One of the few stores they had there for shopping along the streets. There was nothing interesting in particular if you ask me.
Using and not paying for it
Oh they have a lot of Famosa chicken rice ball stalls there which they are apparently famous for. We didn't try it this time
A scary looking statue outside a stall which is my size
The "Malacca River". They even have a river cruise operating here can you believe it? Its a dirty old river with no nice surroundings for admiration.
They have a lot of trishaws there, blasting loud dancing music and all. Its not cheap, just like in Singapore.
The tourism information centre there
Valencia had to take this. Turned out pretty good i must say lol
Posing in front of a fountain in front of their Malacca Museum
Its hotter and more humid there
We paid RM5 each to enter their Museum. And these are some of the craps we saw
We had to make our money worth
Not enough
Still not enough
Walking up to their Education Museum
What the Education Museum look like
It was located on higher ground
This has to be the nicest landmark there. St Paul's Church. Constructed by the Portuguese many many decades ago, it is currently part of the Malaccan Museums Complex.
Kinda remind me of the church i visited in Macau
Because both were constructed by the Portuguese lah
Ermm...part of the church
There are a few huge malls just downhill from the church.
After the long excursion, we were all thirsty and exhausted. I was desperate for some bubble tea and look what we found!
An oasis at the end of the mall just below Carrefour, they even have mango ice desserts there!
This had to be one of the most satisfying drink and dessert we ever had in our lives!
Us enjoying it
Mother Puss played with a little pussy
Don't this remind you of the one they have in Pasir Ris Park? I wonder if its still there
After shopping, there was something that we really needed. Yeah we needed a massage. We eventually found one shop and we settled for it. We got ourselves a 60 minutes foot and shoulder massage. That was satisfying..i was told i snored after i dozed off during the massage lol.
After the massage, we went to eat at this place similar to what we have in Lau Pa Sat. Here's the satay we ordered
The stingray was reasonably cheap compared to Singapore and Puss suggested ordering 2. It tasted horrible.
The claypot rice sucked too
The herbal chicken was the only dish decent we ordered there
Not exactly yummy
After dinner, we went to the night market along the street
We joined a crowd and watched this man yak yak yak..trying to sell his medicated ointment
He is supposingly famous for being able to pry into a coconut with his index finger and after using his medicated oil, he'll be fine. The performance was disappointing..although many of them were impressed..i saw his trick straight away. He actually used his knuckles to crack open the coconut before pushing his finger into it. Cheater. But you should watch him..he entertained with his corny jokes, broken english and pain acting.
Malacca is supposingly famous for their chendol
There's something to complain about each time we visit Malaysia and this time is no exception. I ordered Honey Green Tea but they gave me this milk tea. It sucked terribly..there was even a Pandan taste
Posing along the street with the sucky milk tea
We left soon after this
The end of a short getaway. There were complains as usual but the fun we had overcame everything else. Aren't we so glad to have a neighbour who provides places for poor Singaporeans like me to enjoy short vacations without burning too big a hole in my pockets? Hehe
