Nanbantei

Met up with Puss, Valencia and Christine today for dinner. The initial plan was to dine at Wasabi Tei. But when we got there, the queue was as usual long. We still queued nevertheless but Puss suggested putting our names down at the Nanbantei Yakitori restaurant nearby as we queued. He dined there before and he described the yakitoris there as heavenly.

When we were around 2-4 people away from seats at Wasabi Tei, Nanbantei called and so we headed there instead. And since I haven tried that place before, I thought it would be a good experience even though I badly wanted to have some sashimi. We had sashimi at Nanbantei, but only around 3-4 pieces per person, definitely not enough to satisfy my craving! We did however order a lot of yakitoris and most of them were not bad. This restaurant have a Wine & Dine certification, so that means that its one of the finest restaurants in Singapore! The whole meal cost us around $37 per person, a tit bit more than what we would have paid at Wasabi Tei but its a new experience that I can share here so its worth it!

This name card was placed on our table even before we started ordering

The yummy salad that all of us got one each

Photobucket
The 2 plates of sashimi that 4 of us shared. It was served at the right temperature (not too cold) but the quantity just wasn't enough to satisfy my craving tonight lol

Some fish yakitori and shitake mushroom with meat

Photobucket
Lady fingers and tomatoes wrapped with bacon

Photobucket
I tried one of the tomato and cringed as I chewed on it. Not a big fan of tomatoes you see

Oysters wrapped with bacon

Potato wrapped with bacon

Some minced chicken with a cute looking quail egg

Chicken ball and some pork yakitori

Beef steak yakitori

Photobucket
Some prawn yakitori

Just look at the amount of used stick we discarded, that's how many yakitoris we ordered and finished

After dinner, we did a little shopping around Tangs. Its the start of the Great Singapore Sales man! But fortunately, I finished shopping leaving empty handed lol. We then decided to check out the new upcoming chill out place down at Portsdown Road, a place I read recently on the papers. Its located deep inside Portsdown Road, past Tanglin Trust school and at Wassex Estate. It turned out to be a really cool area where Pietrasanta - The Italian restaurant, Cicada, and Klee was located. We realised that its an area that the rich hang out. There was an Audi R8, many Beemers, Mercs, Porsches parked around. Wanted to try out the Klee that was the place featured on the papers but was disappointed to find the indoor area fully occupied. It was also unfortunately that it was a hot and humid night, and so we decided against staying there. Oh and guess who we saw there, Fiona Xie and her group of girl pals! A pity that she wasn't hanging around with Jeanette Aw or else I would have insisted that we stay there! Lol. The place is set up by the people behind Timbre and they're actually famous for their cocktails, will definitely return to give it a go one day!

Valencia and Christine are supposed to be in this picture

We ended up in Dempsey's PS Cafe in the end. Had some really chocolaty cakes there that we couldn't finish, drank tea, chatted, laughed and had some really good time before heading home. My weekend is coming to an end soon, will be reporting back to camp tomorrow afternoon! Dammit, I hate work! I'm disillusioned! Disillusioned!

Very Random

Just how many Singaporeans out there driving the car with the very much coveted and prestigious emblem BMW really know what those 3 letters stand for? Well I would think less than 1%. We don't bother we don't care. A symbol of success and relative wealth, the badge speaks for itself. And there's always the nickname "Beemer" that many of us address it by. For one, I myself don't know what the acronym BMW stands for till Godlike Wikipedia came to the rescue. It actually stands for Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, and how the hell do you pronounce that lol. It also stands for Bavarian Motor Works in English, now that' much easier to remember.

Photobucket

Now why am I blogging about this? Why so random? I was actually driving along Lornie Road today and was brainstorming on what cool names I can name my future company lol. And I was thinking how cool it'll be if I can coolly acronymed it such that many people can easily remember and think of my brand. I won't reveal what I thought of, its commercial secret. Give me 3-4 years and you'll see it haha.

Feeling very random once again, I was driving down Upper Thomson Road the other day when a flash on the overhead bridge caught me by surprise. It was careless of me because I tend to look up almost everytime I approach an oncoming overhead bridge but unfortunately I failed to notice this one. Just how sneaky can they be? Ambushing motorists all the time and keeping them on their toes all the time. You might realise how dangerous it can be for it'll take away some attention from the road! Well, you might argue we shouldn't have sped in the first place. But frankly speaking, who sticks to the 50km/h or 60km/h speed limit every time we drive? Just ask those that runs our country and those that patrols the roads, more often than not, they're the one guilty themselves.

I really hope this post won't get me into any trouble. I feel for the 24 years old blogger Sexy Fragrance Prince (He has to be gay to title his blog that) that got arrested for something he posted recently. How ridiculous can it be, being put behind bars just because of something you blogged? Those netizens that complained him seriously have nothing else better to do lol. Although the papers didn't go into details on how malicious his comments were, but what can seriously be that bad for that kind of castigation? I myself defintely will not be liable to violence or hatred towards another race just because of what someone said on his/her blog? Enough said, I really don't want to get into trouble myself...stay away whoever you are from whatever blogging responsibilities association! Lol.

I nearly knocked someone down today haha. I was reversing out from an ESSO petrol kiosk after withdrawing money from the ATM. I looked back and saw no car or nobody. But then i heard my reverse censor beeping lousy. In the blink of an eye, a woman turned up in front of my car holding 1 hand on her chest and giving me an astonished face. Imagine that. I waved indicating an apology but I couldn't help but laugh after that. It was hilarious. LOL.

Pimped my rides

I'm inspired for a second post in a row in a day. Don't ask me why, because I've no idea too. Here goes...

I want a nice car, but any nice vehicles that ends up in my hands don't have good fates. They tend to end up dirty and old complete with plenty of scratches even though they're not supposed to be. Yeah call me lazy, because I am! Okay here's something about me, I tend to have short attention spans. I like things (sometimes even somebody) for only a limited amount of time and the interest can just die off after awhile. I've been like that since young, no toys or games can capture my attention for more than a month, things get boring after awhile and I crave for something new lol.

Well, I would guess even a nice sparkling Bentley Continental GT (which is my dream dream dream car btw) will end up in Yellow-Top taxi condition after a year lol. Here are 4 of the vehicles that I've disfigured and neglected so far in my life.

THE FIRST

Photobucket
My first ride. A second hand Honda Phantom TA200. I took care of it like a wife for the first month I owned it. I miss it now.

Photobucket
Bought it during my internship days at Bata. Which explains the outfit

THE SECOND

Photobucket
Got lazy and wanted something newer with auto gear transmission so that I didn't have to scratch my leather shoes each time I kick up my gears. Here's my 2nd ride, an Aprilia Atlantic 200. I miss it now too.

Photobucket
Don't I just look so cute on that?

Photobucket
Disfiguration stage got so bad that I decided to give it a new spray paint 2 years into its life.

THE THIRD

Photobucket
Hands got itchy shortly after getting my Class 2A license. So I got myself a concubine. A spanking hot Honda RVF. This concubine didn't stay with me long, 2 months only to be exact. Too hot to handle, too expensive and too impractical to have 2 bikes lol

Photobucket
I loved it though

THE FOURTH AND THE CURRENT

Photobucket
Yup the one you guys see me moving around in right now. A cutesy Honda Jazz I affectionately nicknamed Jie-Si, not Henry's ex-crush...its a direct translation of Jazz.

Photobucket
My most expensive purchase to date. My companion for everyday, the one I ride and see almost everyday lol

Photobucket
Still spanking new (only in pictures)

THE FIFTH, THE SIXTH, THE SEVENTH ETC

Photobucket
You can spank my Bentley anytime

Photobucket
A fetish for the topless and flashy

Photobucket
And of course the executive and elegant..My Dream next car..a Lexus IS250

Photobucket
This will do just fine for a next car as well lol

Photobucket
And of course there's always space left for 2-Wheelers like this Harley Sportster!

Photobucket
And this Benelli Tornado

Photobucket
And this Benelli TNT! All for me to ride up north!

Manchester United Day

Today is officially Man Utd's day. If you don't already know about it by now, let me let you in on some 10th hand news. Manchester United are the champions of Europe yet again! This came after a long 9 years wait. I'm delirious! It was a super awesome exciting match. My heart must have stopped at least twice throughout. The fatigue from the mere 2 hours of sleep I got for the past 24 hours is well worth it!

Photobucket
The hypes from the big big match in Moscow

Photobucket
The cup that both wanted so badly

Photobucket
It was war

Chelsea was literally a kick away from the cup but thankfully for fate played a part, JT squandered the match point! Chelsea also had several near goals, hitting the woodwork twice. Its written in the stars, my Manchester United is destined to be the champions!

Photobucket
This ain no Deja-Vu, Manchester United are winners again!

Sunset Grill and Pub

I know I might be one of the last, but I finally caught Iron Man yesterday. True to comments given by friends, it's indeed not bad at all. I would think that it's better than Spiderman, Batman, Hulk, Superman or any of the other superhero movies. How I would like to lead the life of Iron Man, with all the women, money, cars and luxury at my fingertips. He's like officially my all time favourite superhero as of now lol.

Photobucket

Got addicted recently to another movie ---> Death Note. Yeah I know what you're thinking, I know I'm slow. But I didn't expect this rather dodgy looking movie to have such an intriguing storyline. Imagine how cool it'll be if I cool just write Mas Selamat Kastari on the Deathnote, visualise his face and he'll be dead in 40 seconds, ending all need for any more ops to try and capture him hahahaha. OK i'm just kidding there. Spent half my afternoon watching part 1 and was going to part 2 only to be disppointed that neither my Xbox nor my computer was able to play the part 2 disc. Anybody has Death Note 2 DVD to lend me?

Photobucket

I finally passed my IPPT last week. But only barely..and rather luckily. I managed only a 212cm on my SBJ which is right on the passing mark. My subsequent jumps were worse than that. Actually, I would have failed again if I weren't 25 years old yet. Men age 25-30 according to our army's research belongs to another category (Cat Y) and they're supposingly slightly weaker and are expected to perform less impressively in IPPT because they're older duh... Thank goodness for that "research" I passed though. Will be giving it another shot tomorrow again to try for the $100 silver award that still eludes me.

To reward myself for finally passing last week, I went out for dinner with my family just now. Sis suggested this place call Sunset Grill and Pub just off Seletar Airfield as recommended by Her World magazine. The place is supposingly famous for their Buffalo Wings and beautiful sunset ambience. But its located in a really secluded place so don't bother visiting it if you don't have your own transport. The place was surprisingly packed considering its ulu location and we were only left with an outdoor smoking area table when we called in for reservation. Just as I was happily munching on my dinner, mosquitoes were also happily munching on my big fat legs. Found it a rather pleasant experience nevertheless, certainly a nice place to bring your next date to! Just remember to wear long pants and bring some insect repellent.

Photobucket
The famous sunset background as you dine

Photobucket
Yup its near Singapore Flying Club

Photobucket
Mum and Sis

Photobucket
The ever camera shy Ah Kor

Photobucket
But we got her here haha

Photobucket

Photobucket
Mum and Ah Kor had the Pan Fried Fish

Photobucket

Photobucket
My steak craving is back. And so I had the T-Bone Steak

Photobucket

Photobucket
Sis had the baby Pork Ribs

Photobucket
The buffalo wings that they're apparently famous for. But be warned, its super expensive! $17.50 for half a dozen lor!

Photobucket
They have 10 different levels indicating the different level of spiciness, level 10 being the spiciest. We settled for level 1 and its already too spicy for us haha

Photobucket
The first bite tasted weird because it was both sour and spicy. Like what Mum said...kinda TomYamish

Photobucket
I didn't really like it, I still prefer the ones at Wala Wala. I forced this smile out of me lol

Why does the long weekend have to come to an end? I haven had enough! Anyway I spent it rather sheepishly. Played some golf, snooker and lost some money in mahjong lol. And in the blink of an eye, its now gone! Sobbb
