A thank you note for those that turned up for my 26th birthday!

I would like to extend my thanks to all that turned up that day! I do feel a little embarrassed that I actually staged such a big birthday bash for myself at this age. But frankly, this party wasn't exactly planned for. It was just supposed to be a mini BBQ by East Coast Park before it escalated to what it is when I decided that getting a chalet would be a better idea. Amazingly and by God's will, I managed to get one chalet at Costa Sands Sentosa just 1 day before the event!

For those that ate and didn't realize, I actually made use of the opportunity to experiment some new creations and some Japanese Kushiyaki during the BBQ. I hope you guys loved the food and didn't get a diarrhea! I guess it won't be long before I can finally open my dream small little cafe and sell these creations to you lol! My apologies to those that I didn't invite because it was kind of a last minute thing, I promise to make it up to you another time one way or another!

There were some that was of great help to me during the event and here are the special mentions!

1) Thanks to Puss for starting off the organization of the event and creating the event and invites on Facebook. Thank you also for helping out with the preparation of the BBQ and for the hard work in front of the BBQ pit. Oh and don't FBB all the time!

2) Special mentions also to Valencia for helping out with the preparation of the BBQ and accompanying me with the buying of the food. Although you did nagged a lot and made a lot of comments throughout the trip, you were of great help!

3) Special thanks to Sis, Kok Pin and family for lending me your kitchen and fridge, marinating my chicken fillets bringing the stuff over to the chalet for me!

4) Thanks to Weijian and Henry for concentrating on your soccer at St James Tiger Live, leaving the really tired and high me outside alone sleeping by the curb lol.

5) Thanks to my Marist brothers for forcing me to go for that night swim. At least you all were considerate enough to ensure I had nothing in my pockets before I went down. I would be so damn super pissed and sad if my new phone went in with me lol. Oh and Henry you owe me a button.

6) Thanks to Ah Kor for pointing out to me all the necessary items that I missed out in preparation for the BBQ and buying the prawns!

7) Thanks to Meiwen and Linus for getting me all those stuff at the very last minute! Really sorry for the trouble, making you guys run here and there. I should have troubled Sham instead! lol

8) Thanks also to Alvin, Sagah, William and Poh Fong for bring over the Mahjong set plus table and keeping me entertained on Friday night!

10) Oh and thanks Jack for starting the BBQ fire and being constantly in front of the BBQ pits cooking for everyone else to eat.

11) Last but not least, thank you to Nick Senior for making the effort to come down all the way even though he had a field day at work. Really appreciate that.

I realized that this note is getting a little too long for any comfort reading. Thank you all again for celebrating my birthday with me, all your presents and all that you've done! I'm turning 26!!!!

Love,
Nick

My first post of 2009. To me..your hair says something about you...

I have not been blogging ever since the start of this new year. Anyway, the start of this new year of 2009 has not gone too well for me so far though. I've been losing every session of mahjong, still having no luck with girls, and has started work in a more hectic and exhausting unit.

In the past, whatever new inspirations of a new write up usually ends up on my blog. But this time, I somehow felt that I'll have more readers putting it up on facebook instead, of which I did of course. But I've decided to transfer the whole write up here anyway, and it shall be my first post of the year. I hope that you like it!!!

Thought about this while walking down Orchard Road yesterday.

Ladies

1) You have very short hair

You're likely to be daring, rebellious...and probably fierce too.

2) You have straight shoulder length hair

You're likely to possess some ladylike elegance, and yet have a little hint of adventurous spirit in you. You can be rather high maintenance for a girlfriend. You like to eat, travel, dress and carry anything expensive. My kind of girl! I don't mind the high maintenance part because when there's no demand..there's no motivation!

3)You have long straight hair

You're likely to be very feminine. You don't mind the hassle of maintaining long hair because looking pretty is important to you. You require, enjoy and demand the occasional manicure, pedicure, facials and eyebrow plucking. You probably rebonded your hair before. You will look attractive tying your hair into a ponytail.

4) You have long curls

You're likely to have characteristics similar to those with long straight hair. But you should be more mature. You want to be pampered and aspire to be a tai-tai.

5) You're botak!

You're an actress. And you shaved your head to try for a breakout role in a movie or a drama. If you're not a celebrity, you could have been traumatized in life so badly recently that you decided to do something drastic to try and forget everything or make people sit up and notice/sympathize you.

Guys

1) You have a crew cut!

You're a new recruit in the army. Either that or you've just been released from the prison. If you're neither of those, you should be a bad boy..a very rebellious one.

2) You have short spiky hair

You like and want to look young. You care about how you dress but not to the extent of being metrosexual. You probably haven changed your hairstyle in years because its convenient and extremely easy to maintain. You look like a mop when your hair is not gelled. Which explains why there's probably always a tube of gel or wax in your bag.

3) You have Center / side parting!

Your fashion sense is still stuck in the 90s. You're probably wearing cross colors jeans with a Domanchi top. There is a JPG long wallet in your back pocket and you carry a small Outdoor haversack. You don't mind and might even enjoy flicking up your fringe every 3 seconds it drops and irritate your eyes.

4) You have long straight flowing hair

You're a rocker. You're a hippy. Neither? You could have injured your wrist and back permanently.

4) You're botak!!!

Its generally less of a hoohah when guys shave their heads. But people around you would still sit up and take notice if you came to work/school one day with a shaved head when you had a head full of hair only the day before. You could also be someone who realized that your hair is dropping and your hairline is receding. You shaved it all off so that no one would ever know.

5) You have unkempt messy hair

You can't be bothered about how you look anymore. Your long hair might also be used to cover parts of your face..because you're probably quite ugly.
