It's Friday! So? haha

Just got back from school. Sam forced me to skip one last lecture so that we can go to her Tua Pek Gong Temple in Loyang. Found our way there without much sweat. The place is really spacious with a nice seaside surrounding. Within the temple there's also a hindu temple and a small islam God section..how weird. She prayed for her family and my family and we left. I sent her home and realised that i forgot to send my bike for servicing. So after dropping Sam off i went back all the way to ubi and had my bike serviced for the first time since i got it. Was supposed to have free servicing at mileage 600, 1200 and then 3000 but i didn't know. Now my mileage is 3200+ but who cares....they still did free servicing for me. I changed my oil filter for $28 though.

After servicing i had to rush back home because i was supposed to email my FYP supervisor some html file and he was supposingly waiting for my email so that he can go home. So here i am just emailed him so decided to blog at the same time. Will have to go school tomorrow for some seminar...got to reach there by 8.45am....how sick.....Going to play my xbox now...bye

My Day

School was reasonably short today...from 9am to 12pm...no break all the way though. After that as usual we guys found a study room to play cards and we played all the way to 2pm. After that i sent Darien to Sulin's place before heading home. Finally completed project gotham racing 2 on my xbox. What a fun game...but there are still 3 cars that i'm unable to unlock...must go figure out why. The best car in the game is Ferrari Enzo...and i own one of them! That car can go so fast i leave my computer opponents smelling my smoke all the time haha.

Just came home after a night out with Sam. I went to fetch her at her auntie's place at paya lebar before heading to geylang for dinner. We ate the famous Beef horfun and right now i'm still feeling bloated from that meal. After that we went to Marina wanting to catch a movie but there's no nice show and no nice time slot so we just walked around. Walked to Suntec and back before Sam decided that she wanted to go to some temple in Loyang. She told me it's a very popular temple that used to give goodies to devotees such as gold ingots (not real gold of course) etc....so we decided we wanted to take a look. But on the way there....guess what...it started to rain....so here i am...at home...going back to my xbox soon...hehe...have a good night cheers.

Why the prejudice against motorbikes?

Whenever people take my bike, they will ask: “Why don’t you get a car?” And the straight forward answer from me will always be: “I can’t afford one.” People tend to think since I can afford a bike then I can afford a car. That is so not true. The cost and maintenance of a car can be almost 10 times more than a motorbike. The COE alone is already literally 100 times more.

It’s more affordable to maintain a 1000cc bike than a 660cc car. I cannot disagree that a car does provide more security and comfort, but one has to think about the parking, the petrol etc. Parking for a motorbike is usually free, if not it will not amount to more than $1 per entry.

It’s true that riding can be dangerous, but driving can be dangerous too. Why do people always make a big fuss whenever someone dies from a motorbike accident but takes it as a norm whenever someone dies from a car accident? You don’t see mummy preventing you from jaywalking or taking a plane whenever there is an accident as a result of the two.

And this afternoon when I told Sam that I will upgrade my bike next time when I acquired my higher class license, she made a big fuss. It’s just in everybody that urges to upgrade right? Don’t you ever think of owning a BMW/Mercedes you already have a nice Starlet you can drive? The same goes for me…my dream bike will be something 1000cc and above…something that can make me lift my head high on the roads and cruise past cars at ease hehe. I’ll definitely want to own a car in the future but now’s not the time.

I’m happy that currently I have a nice bike I can call my own and I can forget the hassle of waiting or running for a bus, squeezing with the crowd etc. This bike is just my own personal transport…my way of commuting…I also want to own a car but I can’t afford it now. So people please don’t ask me “Why don’t you get a car” next time k?

Bangkok Trip

SIP finally ended for me and I won’t be blogging too often nowadays. Just got back from my Bangkok trip last Friday night and I thought that I should blog about it.

Day 1

My family accompanied me to airport this day; we reached there slightly early and went to have dinner at Swensens. When I was still midway through my meal, I was told everyone else has gathered and was prepared to check in. So I went downstairs to pass them my luggage and passport before heading back to Swensens to eat my Earthquake hehe. We walked around the transit area before boarding our plane. We were taking Scandinavian Airline and it turned out to be reasonably good for the amount of money we paid. Every seat has their own in flight entertainment screen but I was so tired I slept most of the time on our journey there.

Reached at around 1am, met our tour guide and got on our way to our hotel. I will be staying in Bangkok City Inn for the coming 4 nights, it’s located in an ulu sleazy area but it’s near World Trade Center, where the 2004 countdown will be held. After unpacking the guys (Weilun and Laijin) decided we were hungry and wanted to buy some snacks. We walked out onto the sleazy street and to 7-Eleven, it turned out to be quite near actually. On the way there, there was this chicken rice store so we decided to buy a packet each. It was only 30 baht each, which is less than S$1.50. The rice was tasty unfortunately the same can’t be said about the chicken meat. Finally got to sleep at around 2.30am, we will be meeting our tour guide at 9am the next day for our free city tour.

Day 2

Went to a few temples, a jewellery factory and a leather factory today. After that we were on our own…walked around Sala Daeng area where we ate this Japanese buffet (it sucked). After that we went to a non-sleazy massage parlour, the guys had full body massage while the girls had foot massage. This was the first time in my life that I ever paid to be massaged and I must say I really enjoyed. Laijin got so comfortable he drooled on the pillow and Weilun was snoring away while being massaged…After the very comfortable massage we continued shopping. (I can’t remember where) Oh ya I bought a pair of authentic Levis jeans at Robinson (Not Robinsons people) for only around S$68! It was really cheap and nearly all of us got a pair each! I got a free Levis duffer bag because of my purchase too hehe.

After shopping we headed back to the hotel to drop our buys before meeting the guide again. She was about to bring us to one of the most terrible entertainment show on this planet…the Tiger (Thai girl) show. The girls did acts like putting a pen into their cunt to write “Welcome to Bangkok”, pouring water into their cunt and letting it out into another bottle to turn it into coke, shooting air darts at a balloon, smoking with their cunt and pulling long strings out of their cunt. It was more of a cunt show. To make matters worse, the girls were actually really ah Mas, the music was terrible and the coke they served us tasted really awful…I suspect it was “made in Thailand’s cunt”…yucks!! We decided to leave really early on because they were repeating their acts and we were really disgusted. After that the guide dropped us at this giant bugis street where we spent the rest of the evening shopping. There were so many things to buy I was frantically controlling myself. They had really nice fish tanks (Clarence you might be interested hehe) and some really cheap t-shirts. Bought a pair of boxer shorts and 2 lewd t-shirts there hehe.

Day 3

Half of today will be spent in Bangkok’s very own Dreamland. Had my fun share of Viking, roller coaster, splash rides etc…the park was playing a few of the tiger songs and they got a few of us giggling. After that we went to MBK Plaza. It turned out to be a really really really huge shopping center…it was like 3 – 4 ngee ann cities. But there were really a lot of things to buy and this is where I spent most of my cash. Bought 6 copied xbox games (Yipee!)…some goodies etc etc. Ate KFC here too…it’s really cheap. It was only 95 baht ($4+?) for a 3 piece chicken meal…the blur counter girl gave us a piece of chicken free of charge and we happily gobbled all 4 pieces. A glass of pepsi cost 10 baht and they served ice water there…Singapore’s KFC should learn from there. After we are all done with shopping…we headed back to our hotel where we were squeezed among the New Year celebrating crowd! I was protecting Sam from the smelly and rowdy crowd but I was violated myself sob sob haha. They had actually wanted to join in the party but after the squeezing among the smell-like-drain people, they decided against it (Thank God!). We bought food from the supermarket and road-side stores back to our hotel for our very own party and this is when I tasted one of the most disgusting meats. Thai chicken ball….never buy that! I’m not kidding…they used the balls as a forfeit for some game and I nearly puked when I had to eat a 2nd ball…in the end we threw the remaining balls away haha.

Day 4

Finally woke up slightly later than usual today…first we headed to Chinatown which turned out to be quite a messy and smelly place. But we had shark fins and bird nest at a really reasonable price and I enjoyed the meal very much. After that we took a tuk tuk to some pier where we wanted to take a boat ride. The boat ride was fun…it took us to some crocodile farm and some temple…it was supposed to be 2 half hours but I think we only went for slightly more than an hour…what the heck. After that we took the sky train back to MBK plaza where we continued shopping. I’m so glad I went home empty handed hehe. When we got back to the hotel bathed and all, we realized Laijin and Carrie were missing. The girls got really worried…thinking that something might have happened to them (kidnapped murdered caught in gang fight etc)…so me and Weilun walked around the area searching for them but to no avail. So coincidentally there was a gang fight just downstairs and I saw it all from my hotel window. One guy was bleeding from his head and he was chased by 10 over other guys armed with rods and wooden planks wahaha. Soon after they dispersed and police came. After around 2 hours + or so, they got back with bags of buys. They had gone shopping without informing anyone of us. Meiwen, Meiting and Sam had wanted to go clubbing but after finding Carrie and Laijin missing they cancelled it (Thank God again!)…both Weilun and me were so glad haha.

Day 5

We decided we didn’t want our free hotel breakfast today because it was the same old thing everyday. I wanted Macdonalds breakfast but by the time we got ready and walked there…it was already lunch time. So we settled down for lunch there and rush to do some really last minute shopping. I bought gifts for my family and was totally wiped out of cash. When we reached the airport, we realized that our flight has been delayed by 3 hours. We hanged around the airport and were really bored and tired by then. When we finally got on our plane and touch down at Singapore, it was already 9.30pm…I’m so glad my sis and Kok Bin came to fetch me…just wanna sleep……….

Conclusion

No time to enjoy now…back to school on Tuesday…lots of projects to rush…sigh…
