Its F1 weekend this week! If you don't already know about it by now, which rock were you living under all these while? I wasn't very keen to go catch it initially because of the high price to tickets, but thank God Sis asked and bought me a $38 walk-about ticket!
We got tickets to the practice race on Friday. The excitement didn't come to me till very much later. On my way there on the train, I couldn't help but feel everyone around was going to catch F1 just like me. When I finally got to the circuit itself, the excitement level was to its maximum. The sound of the F1 cars might be noise pollution to some but it was music to my ears. I could feel the adrenaline rush everytime the F1 engine roared and zoomed past me. I didn't find the need to get ear plugs or cover my ears at first, but the super loud engine sound eventually got unbearable and I had to take out my music ear pieces to cover my ears lol.
On our way to the grand prix!
Singapore can look so beautiful sometimes
Agreed?

Kok Bin and Terence in front one of the Grand Stand
We walked from Raffles Place past Esplanade, past Marina onto the Padang. Mum and I posing for a picture halfway through the journey. Lol.
We then wandered onto the World War 2 Memorial and found a beautiful background for a photo
Sis and Terence's turn
A picture while resting and waiting for part 2 of the practice race to start
We then decided to have dessert at the roadside hawker and guess how much this Ice Kacang cost? $5!
This ice lychee cost $4! We were chopped like tourists.
At our final pitstop in front of the Supreme Court before heading home
I met up with Puss and Valencia for dinner on Saturday evening at Sunset Grill and Pub. Yep its my third time there only this time with a different group of people, but this time, they didn't like it lol.
We shared a bbq chicken and ribs set
Plus fish and chips
And half a dozen of chicken wings and half a dozen of level 1 buffalo wings that I didn't take a picture of lol
After dinner, we met up with Sham and Elizabeth down at Robertson Walk where they had some desserts while I watch a little bit of my Manchester United match (very little indeed). We were having tea and cakes at Laurent Chocolate Bar (the former Chocolate Factory) just beside Harry's when Henry messaged and told us that he has a room up on the 20th storey at Mandarin Oriental Hotel and that it has a great view of the F1 circuit. We decided to rush down but by the time we got there, the race was over. We did however spend some time having fun in the hotel room before heading home.
A picture of the beautiful view with my lousy camera phone
And another
The 5 of us in the room on the bed
There was a horde of Lamborghinis in front of the hotel
What did we do? Post for a picture with them of course!
Oh we found a smart car in the car park of Raffles City too
Look how small the car looks with Puss beside it
We're going back there tomorrow to catch the actual race! Not before enjoying the food and facilities of the hotel of course! Its gonna be an exciting Sunday, something to look forward to at last!

Digging the dancing queen!
Went out for dinner with Mum and Sis yesterday. This time, Sis chose a restaurant in Sembawang Park call Beaulieu House Restaurant. The park was ulu by any means but I was surprised to find lots of people around the area, many of them families and groups of friends, all gathered there for camping, picnic, bbq, lantern carrying etc. The restaurant served both Western and Oriental cuisine. But the place is apparently not renowned for the food, but rather the ambience and atmosphere.
The Sea view
We ordered a $68 set to share btw the 3 of us. The set included 2 glasses of red wine
Sis drank the other glass
Mum had coconut
Veg appetiser
Some really lousy bbq kebabs
And some seafood combo plate
The last of the set, 2 small bowls of ice-cream. Yup very very not value for money indeed
A very nice and different atmosphere though
The 3 of us
There was supposed to be a lower secondary school class gathering yesterday. We were told to turn up at Timbre sub-station at 7.30pm but when I got there at around 9pm (yeah I was late), there was no one there in sight. I was then told to go down to Little India, but it was packed and there was a jam all the way. Feeling a little bit saboed, pang sehed and impatient, I then decided to meet up with Weijian to return him his bicycle. After that, we went out. Still thinking of enjoying some live band, we decided to go back to Timbre sub-station, only to find that the queue has lengthen quite a bit. We then wanted to go to the other Timbre at Art House but couldn't find a road in because of all the road blocks in view of the impending F1 race.
Disappointed, we then decided to head down to Robertson Walk to watch some soccer. We ended up watching a boring 0-0 draw between Liverpool and Stoke City. After the match, we chilled out at the nearby TCC before deciding the Saturday should come to an end.
Met up with Puss today and went down to Sentosa. There wasn't much sun for the tan that we wanted to get. After that, we met up with Weijian and gf and Vivo City for a movie. We watched Mama Mia! It turned out to be really good, the movie was totally about enjoying songs from the old famous Swedish band Abba. It did help that the Max theater that we watched the movie in had a really huge screen and a really good sound system. I enjoyed the movie thoroughly and am currently a big fan of Abba music lol.

Cuppage Japanese Experience
Met up with Josh, Jackie, Horse and Puss last Sunday. It was a mini gathering out of the blue. Was initially out with Puss and Horse walking around in Orchard when Jack called saying Josh asked if we wanted to meet for dinner. And so we did meet up and had dinner at a small Japanese restaurant near Cuppage Centre. There are so many Japanese restaurants in the area that you will be spoilt for choice on which one to go to when you're there. In the end, we chose one Puss was familiar with.
The place was authentic looking and served pretty authentic Jap cuisines as well. But other than that, I don't think that its a place to create a hoohah about. We did however had a hell of a catch up, with much of the focus being on how we are going to celebrate Joshua's bachelors night before his impending wedding this December.
Some dried fish that we ordered
Some fish fins
My chirashi don
Some kinda fish horsey ordered haha
Horsey ordered lots of things

Year Book Yourself
I've been seeing funny pictures of my friends around on the Internet, on blogs, on MSN and on facebook. Which is why I decided to visit the site myself and play around with it. The results turned out to be pretty hilarious! Take a look!
Afro Nick! I know this looks damn gay but its the funniest of the lot! My personal favourite haha
What I'll look like if I had studied harder
What I'll look like if I were to join politics
When I become a Dad
My high school hunky days
Fresh out of graduate school
If I were to have too much to eat
With Tip Top curry puff on my head
And then Old Chang Kee
If I were to join the Beatles
The typical neighbourhood kid that plays with 5 stones and hopscotch all day
Nicholas Jackson
The site is www.yearbookyourself.com if you don't realise it by now. Check it out and laugh at yourself!
