U ARE THE HIMBO【唯我独尊】

OMG did you guys watch Himbo Hunt aka U ARE THE ONE 【唯我独尊】just now? I can't believe it..it was horrible..yet hilarious..you laugh not at the jokes but the stupidity of the men..watching it, it would have been a terrible feeling being a man yourself.

Yeah the show made every one of them look like himbos just now! This post might sound a little sour grapes or something like that but trust me its not anything near that. You'll understand it when you watch it yourself. I can't believe the way the show make these guys praise themselves to the sky like how they believe themselves to be the coolest guy on the planet or the brightest sunshine boy on earth. It gross...goosebumps start coming out and the hair on your hands start standing on its ends.

Photobucket
Yeah that should pretty much be the title of the show

I'm so glad I didn't attend the live shoot with mum and sis who had free tickets because my cousin was invited to dance with one of the himbos. But then if you watched the show, you would have noticed how those himbos actually got many of those ladies on set smiling and getting excited. I really wonder what they were thinking. I did however notice this cute girl in pink tees sitting in the ladies audience judging section's front row, the show would have been so much better if the camera had concentrated on her instead of those men with their brains on their biceps hahaha. I'm never watching this show again, hmmmm but then again I might actually be watching the bimbos version next week lol.

Escape from Guantanamo Bay

Another module finally passed me by yesterday when i completed my 5th last exam...4 more to go! Yesterday's paper was fine, it was the first time since my 1999 O-Levels where i felt that i wrote a lot and had a lot more to write. But i was rather pissed off when i leaned back on my chair in the examination hall and just couldn't recall 2 points to a question no matter how hard i thought. I hope that won't cost me a lot of marks. I hope i do well this time, i'm rather optimistic, don't disappoint me.

Met up with Puss today. We went for brunch at Red Star Restaurant for some dim sum. It was a huge crowd this time compared to the last time when we went on a weekday. But the queue moved rather quickly and i definitely had my fill of what i craved for yesterday.

After dinner, Remy joined us and we catch Harold and Kumar 2. It was a continuation from part 1 and if you didn't catch part 1 you might get lost every now and then. But the show didn't disappoint in the sense I enjoyed myself with a bundle of laughs throughout. Although not ethically correct, their racial and obscene jokes never fails to amuse me.

Photobucket

Settled for dinner at Sakae Teppanyaki because Jackie mentioned to me that they serve good food there. And so happen there was a branch there at Cineleisure where we watched the movie.

Photobucket
Yup and so that's where we had dinner

Photobucket
Everyone had a bowl of salad which i obviously didn't touch

Photobucket
Remy and I had the beef set..there was squid, foie gras, beef and mushrooms which was quite alright

Photobucket
The beef set came with a Chawanmushi..and it was cooked in a carved onion...grossed me out

Photobucket
Puss had the chicken set..which had an oyster, chicken, mushrooms and tofu

Turned out the food wasn't really fantastic. Jackie tricked us lol. But its nice eating moderately once in awhile after frequently those gelate free for all buffets ever so often.

Manchester United the greatest club in the world lol

Even soccer can be nostalgic, what am i talking about? Of course soccer can be nostalgic.

Anyway, I was watching Football Channel this evening and they were broadcasting the Champions League Final between Manchester United and Bayern Munich back in 26th May 1999. Although i already know the final result, i stayed tune throughout the whole broadcast, got excited every time Manu had a chance and panicked every time Bayern attacked. That's the joy soccer brings me and many other guys...the girls just don't get it.

Photobucket

It was a glorious year for Manchester United because they achieved the Treble that year, the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League trophies. My heart melted and my grin was from ear to ear when i witness again how they dramatically beat Bayern Munich at the last minute.

Photobucket

Anyway, my love affair for Manchester United began back in the year 1994..when i was still studying in Primary 5. I can't remember when exactly and where though, but i watched on TV how Manu demolished Manchester City 4-0. It was really old school then with the squad still containing players like

Photobucket
Peter Schmeichel

Photobucket
Denis Irwin

Photobucket
Steve Bruce

Photobucket
Gary Pallister

Photobucket
Paul Parker

Photobucket
Ryan Giggs. Yeah he's still playing for Manu now..although not quite at the same level. I still remember watching his soccer school programme on tv. Loved it

Photobucket
Paul Ince

Photobucket
Roy Keane

Photobucket
Andrei Kanchelskis

Photobucket
Brian McClair

Photobucket
Mark Hughes

Photobucket
The Great Eric Cantona

Yeah i can remember practically all of them..I love Manchester United. I can only enjoy soccer by watching Manchester United games.

Its a pity they lost to chelsea 2-1 today...it makes me feel sad. The girls still won't get it. Glory Glory Man Utd lol.

My Philosophy

There's so many things left to do so many places left unvisited, but then there's the money and time factor always in the way.

Well, if you don't know me by now, my philosophy in life is to enjoy life as much as i can, and never hesitate in doing something that i want to do. The reason is simple, you live only this once, and if you think about it, life's really really short, years fly by without you realising it.

Imagine this, after you die, you disappear for eternity, and there's no end to this eternity, you wonder where you'll be decades, centuries, milleniums or millions of years from now. Yes there's a very good reason why death is so scary and precisely why so many people turn to religion. Because they want to believe that there's an afterlife, that they'll get to look down at their descendents from above after they've passed on. Well, if it makes one not afraid of death and pass away peacefully and happily, then i actually think religion is having a positive effect on life and i encourage it. But sadly, i'm not a believer in this sense. I don't believe in recarnations, a 2nd/3rd/4th life etc, nor do i believe that there's a heaven and hell for us to go to. I believe that we live only this once and wherever we go after death..i don't know...but definitely not heaven where there's 99 virgins waiting for us lol.

I wanna live this life once, live it well, live it to the fullest. And you should too.

Thinking of asking that guy/girl that you've been eyeing for the longest time now? What are you waiting for?

Thinking if you should spend money and get that shirt/bag/laptop that you always wanted? I say go ahead! Lol.

Not spending enough time with friends, your family and love ones? Start doing something now!

Haven been in contact with that old buddy of yours for the longest time? Had a misunderstanding or a minor tiff back then? Bury the hatchet and get on with life! Make friends not enemies! Reminisce the good times forget the bad times!

I'm no Confucious..nor am i Gandhi or Mother Teresa whatsoever. But i like to believe in my own philosophy in life and its nice influencing others to believe in it too lol.

The bird turns a quarter century old!

Finally one of them has jumped onto my ship...now we're both as old. Yes the bird weijian is 25 too. The 4 of us went jogging at Tanah Merah NSRCC before deciding to have dinner at the new T3.

I know i'm slow..but yeah..its the first time i've been there ever since its official opening months ago. Nothing fantastic about the place actually...its somewhat like T2..just much bigger and much more empty.

Photobucket
We had dinner at Earle Swensens

Photobucket
The Tuna tortillas were bad. Only 1 of 4 left by the time i remember to take this photo

Photobucket
The baked rice was bad too..it was more like mueh fan

Photobucket
Fortunately, the seafood pasta was alright

Photobucket
The seafood basket was fine too

Photobucket
Puss managed a smile after the less than satisfying meal...Bernerd didn't bother lol

Photobucket
Birthday boy and I smiled for the camera too

Photobucket
We then went to TCC where we had bought a make do birthday cake..this is the chocolate cake..which was good

Photobucket
And the cheese cake...which was good too

Photobucket
We all had tea except for Weijian who had coffee

Photobucket
Ok happy birthday bird...notice we got forks in place of candles

Patronized Wala Wala for the 2nd time in recent week on Monday. But this time together with a few of my coursemates namely Gideon, Ray, Elaine and Michael. The band on that day wasn't fantastic...didn't enjoy the music at all. I had one bottle of Asahi and was flushed. I suck at drinking....

I went to support David Tao!

David Tao's concert was quite awesome. It was 3 full hours long..and him having hardly any break at all. It was action, singing and dancing all night long and it was definitely worth the money. It has been a long time since my last concert (i think it was Christina Aguilera's) and it was nice attending one after so long. Too bad i couldn't get any tickets for the Jay Chou's one.

Photobucket

Met up with Puss last Wednesday for a wasabi tei sashimi feast before meeting up with Weijian, Bernerd, Henry and Richard at Wala Wala. The band was great that day..too bad a bulk of us including me had to work the next day so we couldn't stay till after the last set.

Went car shopping with Bernerd today. He's considering the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Mazda 6 and Nissan Cefiro. Had a nice time playing around at the showroom and dreaming of owning one myself too lol. Decided not to go jogging at CC which was the original plan. Instead we decided to do the opposite and eat instead. We ended up at Miramar's Ikoi and i'm still feeling bloated from the dinner.

Photobucket
Honda Accord. His preferred choice. An elegant car. And it does reminds me a little of the BMW 5 Series. Had a really really comfortable ride during the test drive too. An obvious choice but its significantly more expensive than the rest. But its a Honda afterall!

Photobucket
Toyota Camry. His 2nd choice. But it does have a cheap looking interior. It has even been converted to a few taxis these days. Won't be one of my options if i were to buy. An automatic uncle's choice!

Photobucket
Mazda 6. 3rd choice. Sporty looking. Almost as expensive as the Accord...Although less classy as compared to the Accord but its way sportier. I would say the only model among the 4 that would suit someone our age group. My favourite among the lot.

Photobucket
Nissan Cefiro. He wasn't very keen on this. But it does come with impressive technology and build quality. The cheapest among the lot..they're clearing stock! If you like one now's the time to get one!

Photobucket
None of the cars in the showroom caught my attention. Except for this...the Nissan 350Z Roadster. I want one!

Got to study the whole week..exam on the 26th..wish me luck people.

Call me Hogan

Why the hell are we doing so much for the sake of 1 man's visual pleasure? I feel disgusted. Sometimes I feel like i'm in the same line as Brad Pitt, Li Nanxing or even Hulk Hogan.

I understand that he's a powerful man. But even a powerful man won't want so many people to sweat their hearts out, work through countless nights, and spend unnecessary money just for his enjoyment right? Ok maybe i'm wrong. I've never been a powerful man before..neither will i know how they think or live their life.

I love Disney

I was reading the papers today and I read that Tokyo Disneyland will be celebrating their 25th anniversary today. Then i tuned in to 93.3FM and they mentioned it too. Borned in this era, i'm thankful to Disney for bringing memories and joy into my childhood. The things they come out with, the characters that they create..never fails to engulf me with that magical feeling.

I am especially fond of a few Disney cartoons namely

Photobucket
Aladdin

Photobucket
Beauty and the Beast

Photobucket
Lion King

and to a lesser extent;

Photobucket
Snow White

Photobucket
Cinderella

Photobucket
Hercules

Photobucket
Little Mermaid

Photobucket
Pocahontas

Photobucket
Mulan

Photobucket
Sleeping Beauty

Photobucket
And Tarzan

Its a pity the presence of Disney in our country has diminished over the years. The Disney shop collasped some years ago and the Disneyland plan in Singapore failed to materialize. Its a pity alright..especially to the kids. I hope to bring Disney back someday..i will do it..someday..somehow..I promise.
