Sungei Buloh

Got stung by a bee for the first time in my life yesterday. I was doing my stretching and warm up before the morning run when something flew into my hair. Instinctively, i used my hand and tried to brush it away. Before i knew it, i felt a sharp pain on my left hand's forefinger and when i took a closer look, a small sting was inbedded into my skin. It was super painful but i just carried on with warming up. And the culprit who stung me flew away before i could even take a look at it. After leaving that sting on me, he's going to die anything. Serve it right for attacking me. Lol.

Had my unit's cohesion at Sungei Buloh yesterday. It was super boring, there's really nothing much to see. I was looking forward to seeing some crocodiles, rare birds or something but all i could see there was plenty of monitor lizards, terrapins, herons and some squirrels. I even saw a dog walking across the water at one point. This is only my second time there, it must have been at least 15 years since the last time i went there. Anyway, like i said, there's nothing to see there. Perhaps because its the birds migatory season now. Don't go during the weekends because you will have to pay $1 then.

After dinner, we had a small commanders dinner at the Mongolian BBQ buffet at Park Mall. They have quite a wide spread with sashimi, clayfish, prawns, dim sum, tepanyaki, some mongolian noodles and some other dishes. I didn't eat much though because i've intend to lose some weight! I shall start to eat less and exercise more. So there won't be nice pictures of food on my blog for some time now. The next photo you see of me will be lean and healthy! Lol.

At World's End

Started the weekend by meeting up with Eunice on friday. We had wanted to watch Midsummer night dreams but she couldn't make it in time for the show because of work so we decided to just meet for dinner. Such a pity because its the last show for the play tonight and i won't be able to catch it.

Anyway it was packed both on the streets and on the roads in town that night. I didn't know the reason until Eunice told me it was the start of the Great Singapore Sales. Anyway we decided to skip Orchard and we meet at Plaza Singapura instead. Dined at Ichiban but didn't have a good experience because the service was bad and the food only average, doubt i'll ever go back there again.

After dinner, we strolled around town for awhile before ending up at Balcony Bar. There we saw Freddy, Bucky and their friends. I ordered a mocktail Mango Tango there and fell in love with it. No beer or liquor for me in the future! Mango Tango it shall be!

Spent my saturday playing soccer. Weiquan invited me to play with his team which comprises quite a few marists that i know. I must say its quite a good team with a good balance in every position. We trashed the opponents 7-1 partly because the other team is lousy too.

After soccer, i met up with Henry at Vivo City for dinner before our movie. I got a shock when he told me that its his first time visiting Vivo City. It must have been opened for at least half a year now? We walked around Vivo looking for a good place to have dinner before he finally decided to eat at Long John Silvers lol.

Sham then met up with us halfway through dinner. We watched Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End at a price of $5 courtesy of Sham's sister. It was a long show..almost 3 hours to be exact..and i must say its only ok. I think its an overhyped show, wasn't a great Pirates of the Carribean's fan in the first place, I'll be more excited over Shrek 3.

After the movie, we decided we wanted to visit Cafe Del Maar at Sentosa. It replaces the old Sunset Bay where i was made to dance on the bar top 3 years ago at my 21st birthday. It is of course much nicer and bigger. A good place to celebrate a birthday, who's birthday is next guys?

Went out for dinner with Mum, Sis and Kok Bin today. This time we tried the Mushroom Pot at Kallang theatre. The restaurant has been there for some time now but somehow eating all mushroom didn't quite appeal back then, so our first visit there didn't happen till today. Its a buffet steamboat there, you cannot imagine how full i felt at the end of the meal. And i'm literally afraid of mushrooms now haha.

A second car in the Lim family!

Met up with Bernerd last sat before the FA cup match. We had dinner at Shin Kushinya, the same jap restaurant at Vivo City i dined in with Sam and Puss some months ago. The good there is good, now i have some idea on what food to prepare for my next BBQ gathering!

As you all would have already known by now..Manchester United lost after a wonder strike from oily hair drogba. Had a soccer game myself last Sunday where we got to play at Jurong Stadium. It was kinda special playing there, since its so different from the usual secondary schools or club fields that we play at. I fought hard for the match but was unable to break my goal drought lol. Ended up getting injured myself after a "mudslide".

After soccer, i met up with Puss where we watched 28 weeks later. In case you didn't know beforehand like me, there is actually a part 1 to this show known as 28 days later. The show is about how this virus infect human and make them zombies that go around biting others. The show is scary because of the music and the many shock scenes, other than that its alright. But its really interesting how they film the show in Britain and made the country so empty and deserted. There was even one scene where they were at Wembley Stadium and the field was messy with long untrimmed grass. The show didn't end off nicely though..i can see a 28 months/years/decades/centuries/millennium later coming on soon lol.

Took off yesterday and today. Accompanied my sis the whole day today where she was to collect her 206 in the late afternoon. Had a short test drive of it from the Peugeot showroom to Kok Bin's house. It feels totally different from my car, the steering is hard and it is not as reactive. Didn't like the whole feel of it, but as long as sis is happy its ok!

Happy Mother's Day 2007!

Visited Odette's newly rented studio apartment last Sunday together with Puss and Jocelyn. Its located at Holland Drive and i must say its really impressive! The place is so well furnished it looks so comfy to live in. We had cake, tea, cookies and a nice long chat there. Had a great time there before i had to head off for dinner with my family.

Celebrated Mother's day with my mum and sis last where we had dinner at Sichuan's Dou Hua Restaurant located at UOB Plaza after recommendation from Puss. He had lunch there with his family the week before and he told me how the buffet there serves steam fish, sharks fin and other chinese delicacies. I found it rather interesting because such dishes aren't usually cheap and there i can eat all i can and want! Moreover, its located right at the top of UOB plaza, Singapore's tallest building..the sight there must be really really good.

But do take note, you have to have a minimum of 4 people before you can eat there. So we invited my cousin Audrey along. Having that rule also means you can't bring your date there for a buffet meal, you need a double date! The food there was good, just like what you would eat at a typical wedding dinner, just that this time you can really eat a lot more. There's also a tea guy there that specials in pouring tea with a super long tip pot in different martial art positions. The buffet cost $45+++ per person that day because of Mother's day, on normal days i believe its only $35+++ per person, do give it a try!

Met up with Puss, Sham, Valencia, Christine and Desiree yesterday for dinner. We met up at Clarke Quay's Central first before they decided they want to eat at Hanabi. So we booked seats at Hanabi Odeon Towers and went there. Stupid Puss pang seh us halfway because he had other plans so only the 5 of us went to eat there. We ordered so much i had to resort to playing finger guessing with Christine to finish up some of the remaining food. In the end, it was too much for us to take and i gave up. We started spreading the sashimi on each of our small plates so that it wouldn't look untouched haha.

Henry joined us halfway through dinner after his own dinner at home. After dinner, Valencia, Desiree, Henry and myself all had a sudden urge to want to play mahjong. And why not since there's exactly 4 of us! So we gave in to our desires and we went to Desiree house where we played 2 rounds haha.

Will be watching the FA cup final between Manchester United and Chelsea later at the usual place Robertson Walk later. Can't wait. Manu will win the double this time!

Chanced upon this site when i was reading Zeon's blog and boy is this fun haha.

Uploaded my first picture and all my celebrity lookalikes turn out to be females! Never thought i had such a pretty face!

Then i uploaded another photo and a few old men celebs came out! WTF is Gao Xingjian and Roh-Moo Hyun man..

Gosh this is not flattering at all. This face recognition thing suck, but its fun nevertheless haha. Oh its quite accurate actually, i uploaded Fann Wong's picture and it got a 90% match to Ann Kok and 86% match to Fann Wong haha!

What a wonderful world

Was having night training last night and i was practically looking up the sky admiring the stars the whole time i had nothing to do. Thats when i reminded myself what a beautiful world i live in. I've always been fascinated by natural landscapes and the outdoor nature. I long to visit countries like Switzerland, United States, Egypt and New Zealand where there're full of such landscapes. How i long to witness the Northern Lights one day too. I'm sure i'll eventually see it, i just don't have the money now, i will work hard and be there with my love one in the near future lol.

In the meantime, since i can't go that far, i plan to have a short getaway this weekend. I'm planning on a camping trip at Pulau Ubin. Don't ask me what we expect to do there, but i'm sure it'll be a lot of fun. Its time to shift out of your comfy room and get close to earth once again. Thats when you'll realise what a wonderful world this is.

Watched the record setting movie Spiderman 3 on Sunday with Puss. Other than the costumes and the effects, the rest of the movie was kinda bad. That including the storyline and acting. Like my friend said, there's just too much about Spidey's love life...and its a turn off. And my favourite villian Venom died much too early and too easily. I hope he reappears soon!

Oh anyway sis bought a car on Monday, she has decided against buying the Volkswagen Beetle and opted for the cheaper Peugeot 206 instead. It will cost $58k..the last 10 here before the new model 207 launches. I guess its a good choice..girly enough yet classy. Will be getting it in around 2 weeks time. Can't wait to sit on it!

Eve of Labour Day fun and May 2007 birthdays

I know this is old news but i feel like talking about it. And if you still haven heard of this news, you've been living on turtle mountain all these while, please go and socialise or read some newspaper! Lol. Ok i'm talking about the south korean who went on a shooting spree at his american school a few weeks ago Cho Seung-Hui. This is not the first time something like this happened in the states and the reason for them doing this has been the same. They have been ostracized and bullied in their school. Having been studying in schools for more than 15 years myself, i know of people like these. This Cho guy got exactly what he wanted, to get the message across. He managed to change the way people will look at such people in the future or think twice about bullying someone but that didn't change the fact that he's a loser, someone with no friends or life. I might sound mean, but i just had the inspiration of blogging about this after watching his video. Cho Sueng-Hui, please open up and make more friends in hell yeah.

Met up with Philadel on the eve of Labour Day which is last monday. Wanted to have dinner at Wasabei Tei but there was a queue outside when we reached. It didn't help that we were feeling really really hungry and it was only 1 hour away from their closing time. So we decided to dine somewhere else and we ended up at Wheelock Place's Sun With Moon. Although they serve japanese food too, yup i know its a world of difference in term of price haha. I ordered some seafood with rice which didn't taste good while Phil ordered a dish of hotpot with beef called Sukiyaki. Other than those we shared a plate of Sashimi too and had some sesame, green tea, red bean ice cream for dessert. Haha i know i've been putting on weight, i just can't resist food.

After dinner, Sham met up with us and we decided we wanted to watch a movie. Phil's brother joined us later on and we watched the movie Wild Hogs at Yishun 10. It must has been nearly 10 years since i last watched a movie there and the place hasn't changed one bit. Oh and they play Tamil movies there now.

Celebrated Meiwen and Kheng Hong's birthday on friday with my good bunch of poly mates. The birthday girl chose Cafe Iguana, the place i went with my sister over a month ago. I arrived late that evening so i got them to order something for me first. Turn out they ordered the same New York Steak i ordered the last time i went there. Anyway i think that was the best dish they had there, most of the others didn't enjoy their food haha.

After dinner, we went down to OBar. The guys went on a drinking spree that night. Fortunately i've quit drinking so i wasn't affect lol. The night ended with Henry and Meiwen both puking and Kheng Hong sprouting nonsense and being talkative all night haha. No more such stuff next time guys! We shouldn't spend so much money eating good food only to spend more money to puke them all out! Its wrong!
