A nice gathering before 2007

Sunday, December 31, 2006

Today is a Sunday, New year's eve and Hari Raya Haji! Its a super holiday! You can count yourself super duper unlucky if you have to work today! Please demand at least 3 times more of the usual pay for today!

Its scary how time flew past, it seems so recently that we were celebrating the welcome of 2006...and now its going to be 2007! Spent last year with Sam, Puss and Weijian, i remember that we headed down to Punggol Marina and even took a few pics there. The reason why we ventured so far that time is partly due to the fact that i just got my new car not too long ago and its always nice going to places in singapore that you don't always go to.

The most memorable photo from last year, 4 of us forming 2006 to welcome the new year

Had a sec 2D class gathering yesterday at Jackie's place. The turnout was pretty good...even our form teacher Mrs Audrey Chong came! Coincidentally, she was also my Cathechism teacher in Christ The King church. When she first taught us, she was still considered a rookie teacher then, and now she told us that she recently got her 10 years long service award! Amazing..super amazing..very soon we might even be attending one of our classmate's wedding dinner...unbelievable yeah. From this class, we have a lawyer, a jailbird, a bodybuilder, a national sailor, one dead, many accountants, many engineers, some businessmen and last but not least the person they are more proud of..a professional soldier..how cool is that hahaha. We dined on Pizza, chicken wings and one whole chicken and chatted practically the whole night. It was nice catching up with everyone...thanks to our capitan Dazza for never failing to amaze us with his organising skills...like i said yesterday..he's in the wrong line (He's going to be an accountant), he should be in events management. One of them Jerry changed so much he introduced himself as Jackie's cousin Tom to everyone that comes in and no one recognized him. He used to be so chubby, fat and prosperous...now he's tall, lean and muscular..he chubby face caved in so much he don't look the same anymore. No wonder no one recognizes him!

Saddam..War...blood..diamonds..they're all linked

Saturday, December 30, 2006

Saddam Hussein has been slained. Today is the day. I expected the execution to be kept hush hush for fear of retaliation from his loyalists but nah the media knew about it anyway. The tyrant dictator that started both gulf war 1 and 2 is finally gone. When gulf war 1 started 15 years ago..i remembered that i was still in primary school and i would just sit there quietly while the rest of the kids play because i was aware of the ongoing war. There was this fear that time that the war might come to singapore with smrt reminding people to go to their bomb shelters should there be an air strike. I was still so young then and i thought that i was going to die. So silly then...i didn't know where the ongoing war was...i didn't know where Iraq was anyway.

Met up with Sham on Tuesday to watch The curse of the Golden Flower. The production looked really really expensive with all the props, costumes and extras used. The storyline was simple and nothing special but you'll be mesmerised by the rest. The whole palace was super colourful, the costumes were excellent and the actresses all had big boobs..or rather their boobs were pushed up so much they looked huge hahaha.

Has been feeling frustrated lately because of the bike issue again. That stupid bastard still has not paid me. All his tall tales are getting ridiculous by the day. I made a trip down to small claims tribunal that day with the intention to make a claim against the bastard but they told me i needed some supporting documents and his address. But the stupid bastard refuses to give me his address claiming he sold his flat in singapore and is not warded in a selayang hospital in KL. And when i asked for me bike back, he kept delaying claiming he parked the bike at his friend's condo and his friend is now overseas and will only be back next week. I highly suspect he either rode my bike to malaysia with him (he claim he didn't) or he is using the bike for illegal activities. If i still don't see my bike by next week, i'm going to the police. Stupid bastard, i curse him everyday before i go to sleep..how can anyone be like that..go on lying for such a long period of time...may his legs rot and while he's crossing the road with his wheelchair, a trailer come and knock him down..stupid bastard!

Went Zouk again on Wednesday...there weren't as many babes as the week before but still some of us got lucky lah. Wooh!

Met up with Valencia, Christine and Sham yesterday in town. Christine and her colleague were shopping so we tagged along. We then had dinner at Nana Thai at Far East Plaza. We had wanted to try this place call Wasabi Tei there highly recommended by Valencia but that place is super small and we had to queue super long before we can eat there so we decided against it. After dinner, Valencia wasn't feeling well so she left first. While heading towards Tangs, we bummed into Shawn and Desmond along the street so we found a place at Coffee Bean and only Shawn had something to drink haha. Things got boring after awhile so Sham and i decided we wanted to watch a movie again. Ended up at Tampines Mall where we caught Blood Diamond. Excellent show. Creates awareness of the conflicts in Africa over diamond mines and how women are financing the massacres over there by buying diamonds! Haha...so now guys..you know what reason to use not to buy your girl a diamond ring next time! Anyway, its a really nice show..its suddenly got me interested in reading up on the conflicts in Africa...go catch it!

Christmas Day 2006!

Monday, December 25, 2006

Although its only slightly more than 10 mins to the end of christmas day..its still not to late for me to wish everyone of you that visits this blog a very merry christmas and may this season be filled with joy and love from everyone around you!

Had a gathering at kheng hong's house on saturday with my poly mates. It was a great night of fun and catching up. Met up with henry early with the intention to go there early for mahjong but we reached quite late because henry had to do some last minute shopping at heartland mall for the gift exchange. When we got there, we had a mini excursion around the house which is huge to say the least. He had quite a lot of pets which makes his house a little of a mini zoo. Played fools ball, helped out a little bit with the steamboat preparation and played a round of mahjong too before the rest started arriving one by one. This year, i ended up receiving linus's gift which is a cute devil and angel bottle opener. My gift which is a coffee pot ended up with either valencia or kheng hong haha. Oh and i got a gym workout towel from samantha and a biotherm cleasing foam from Puss. Thank you all! All in all, i must really thank kheng hong and valencia for organising this wonderful gathering, preparing the food and making effort to entertain us. Its really nice and i'll be looking forward to the next one!

Got up on christmas eve's afternoon and went for lunch with mum. We had lunch at my mum's favourite amk jack's place. After lunch, mum was nice enough to tell me she haven got me my christmas present so she asked what i wanted. Ended up buying a new desktop chair. My previous one was bought at Ikea and its all dirty and nearly unusable already. This chair came just in time! Thanks mum!

My new chair!

Attended mass with my family on christmas eve. I can't remember when was the last time i stepped into my church. Its not that i don't believe anymore...i just find mass really boring and a waste of time. Its my personal thought so don't flame me! Anyway, since its christmas, i thought why not attend mass with my family and try to get myself into that christmas mood. Failed..had to stand throughout the whole mass..the church was packed like crazy..we really need a bigger church..why not do it at expo like city harvest i say haha...just kidding.

Every year, my family will have a small gathering and do a gift exchange and this year is not exception. Only that this year, we held it at AUD's house instead of my house. Bought my mum a new handphone, got my sis a bracelet and my aunt a necklace..i received a Levis tee from my sis and from the rest chocolates hahaha. It has indeed been a day of giving and receiving...but i still prefer to receive hehe. Once again i would like to wish each and everyone of you a joyous and fulfilling christmas...there's another 12 days of christmas so its still not too late to get me something! Cheers!

Christmas is coming!

Saturday, December 23, 2006

Haven been blogging not because i have nothing to record, neither is it because i don't have the time, but rather because i just don't feel like doing it. There was even a period of time i thought why should i blog about my life and let everyone know what life i'm leading. Then i realised that i only blog about what i want to blog. There are still secrets i keep within which i don't want others to know..this blog is actually all just a lie and cover up..don't read it!

Ok so here i am still doing what i like to do..recording what happened in life. I really don't know where to start..let me recall as much as i can. Ok went Sentosa to tan with Puss last week..nice and sunny weather unless these days where it rains practically the whole day. After that, we met up with Samantha at Vivocity where we lunched at some Jap restaurant there. They specialises in skewers and i must say it does taste good. After lunch, they accompanied me on a shopping spree..i bought 6 new tops altogether lol.

My new ride at Vivocity

After shopping, we all went our separate ways. I met up with the poly mates to celebrate Valencia's 22th birthday. She chose a restaurant called Turquoise room at Gillman Village..just beside my old school SAJC's old campus. The place has really cool ambience but the food wasn't all that fantastic. After dinner, i suggested trying out the new St James Power Station. First, we checked out Bellini Room...its a quiet jazzy chill out kind of place and thats the kind of place we need..but unfortunately, they don't have a nice place for us to gather. So we went on the Movito or issit Motivo (whatever)..a salsa music kind of place but Shawn wasn't allowed in by the moron manager there. We then carried on to Power house..a house / hip hop kind of place. We were amused by the amount of old people dancing in there..we just didn't feel like we were in the right place. We saw a few mediacorp stars there though..i only know the name of one..Jeff Wang? Would like to check out the place again one day...there's a cantopop place there call Dragonfly and it looks kind of cool..lots of cool ah lian chicks there! Wooh! Haha.

I can't really remember what happened the next few days. But on thursday, i met up with Sham, Valencia and her colleagues for a JC band concert at esplanade. I was late and the whole group of them had to wait for me before they could enter..opps. Although they were impressive, we during the break because we were bored. After that, Sham and i went to catch Eragon..i had 2 free tickets from sis. Apparently, the medical group booked the whole suntec cinema during that slot just for people like us...and every cinema was showing Eragon haha. Well..the show is kiddy in a kind of way because it was based on a book written by a 16 or 18 years old. But nevertheless, there were still actions and cool graphics.

Caught Charlotte's web the other day too. It was my literature book in primary school! I loved the book then. But i was bored to death at the movie..don't ask me why haha.

Horse is finally back after one year. Met up with him, bucky and freddy on Tuesday and we went to play bowling! Before bowling, we had dinner at Arab Street's Samar because horsey wanted to smoke shisha. It has been years since we last played bowling but it still brought the fun and joy it did years ago. I still managed at least a 100 for each game..i must say i'm pretty good! Teamed up with Bucky against Horsey and Fred and we trashed them. The losers had to treat drinks at Zouk the following day which they did!

It has been ages too since i last went for Zouk's mambo night and i must say i really enjoyed myself that night haha. There were eye candies all over! Someone even went crazy and bought drinks for a few of them haha. I practically just leeched on him and chat up with those he bought drinks for hahaha. I saw lots of friends there that night..there was Nick Senior, Danny, Roy etc etc...friends from all walks of life were there..amazing..they sure know where and when to have fun!

Met up with Puss, Horsey and gf again yesterday. Went for some last minute christmas shopping first before we decided we want a place to chill out. We soon found ourselves in Dempsey Road. And there, we found a really really cool place call Oosh. It has nice ambience, nice furnitures and a nice band! The female singer there can even imitate the sound of trumpet impressively. It'll be a nice place to hang out again next time.

Salsa Fest 2!

Friday, December 15, 2006

Met up with Sham and Kheng Hong on Wed for a movie at PS..Flags of our fathers! Its one of the rare war films out this year and produced by 2 famous directors Clint Eastwood and Steven Spielberg! It actually talks about how the photograph of 5 soldiers raising the US flag on the japanese island of Iwo Jima made heroes of the men in the picture as the three surviving flag-raisers were returned to the U.S. and made into props in the government’s Seventh War Bond Tour. Uncomfortable with their new celebrity, the flag-raisers considered the real heroes to be the men who died on Iwo Jima; still, the American public held them up as the best America had to offer, the supermen who conquered the Japanese. Watch it if you're into war and history like me!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

After the show, 3 of us had dinner at PastaMania. After dinner, i suggested trying out the new place at Istana Park opposite, its call the Giraffe. Funny name for such a nice place but that didn't matter. Its a nice place alright with nice surroundings and ambience. Their cocktails were cheap so i had a Singapore Sling. It was really strong. I turned all red and hot after just one glass..partly also because they chased us out at 11pm because they were closing. It'll be a nice place to hang out next time you guys need somewhere.

Then i caught Deja Vu yesterday at Vivocity. Its a good show..all exciting and action packed. But its up to you to believe if such a time reliving machine can exist...its almost like a time machine. Anyway its one of the better movies i've watched these days.

Last night was also the second night of the salsa fest..it was held at MOS this time. All the friends i jio pang seh me therefore i was left all alone. I met up with my sis and her friends for dinner before making our way to MOS. There, we met up with my cousins and watched as couples danced on the dancefloor. There were performances in between...one girl's tube top even slipped revealing part of her chocolate chip..it was really embarrassing for her...but she can only blame herself for not wanting to wear a bra haha. There'll be a third night this saturday but i chose to forgo it for Valencia's birthday celebration...how great thou art right?! Haha.

Has been mugging for most of the past week for my paper on Saturday...i'm so glad its over! I have a good long month of holiday now before my next module starts! The paper was alright..i doubt that i will excel..but i guess i should pass *fingers crossed*. After the exam, i joined my group of schoolmates for an outing. We had dinner at Marina Bay...yes not again for me. Luckily i didn't get any bad stomachache this time haha. After dinner, we went to chill out at Marina Mandarin Hotel's lobby lounge..the same place i went with Bernerd and Puss a few months back. Love the place..very nice ambience with good music too. After that, i went to join Daniel, Bucky, Jackie and Doreen at MOS. It was Zouk out night but MOS was unexpectedly pack! I hardly had any space to dance that night and the whole place felt like a sauna. It was quite a bad night of clubbing but i'm happy all the same because i know that i have no more exams and the rest of the month will mostly be used to clear my leaves!

Met up with Puss yesterday for a little Christmas window shopping and movie. I was the only one that window shopped though..Puss bought stuff like nobody's business haha. We caught the movie The Holiday. Its a good show. Its a story about how Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz wanted a different kind of life for awhile after a bad break up. So they decided they will change home, cars etc for 2 whole weeks. Both unexpectedly found new love in the process. Its one of the movies that gets you into the mood of Christmas and makes you go "awww" (in a nice way) with their sweet love. Conclusion..highly recommended movie this Christmas season..a must catch in my opinion. ;)

After movie, we had dinner at Pasta Mania before i left to meet Weijian and Ming Teck at Chimes for a drink and chit chat. So happen there was to be a big match (Chelsea vs Arsenal) that night and since we both had nothing on the next day (which is today btw)..we decided we will go to Jackie's house to watch it. We were joined by Joshua (who is back btw), Dave and Daniel there. It turned out to be a great match..but only the last 10 mins. We went ohhh and arrr quite a lot of times. Nice night of soccer and brotherhood.

I just caught The battle of Wits. Its a story about how Zhao kingdom wanted to invade Liang Kingdom and Liang Kingdom seeked the help one a Mozi Warrior (Andy Lau) to help them defend their city. After helping them, they saw Andy Lau's motive for helping them as a pretense of trying to win the people over and usurp the throne. Yup, lots of lives lost in the end blah blah blah. Morale of the story, never help others in need...they might turn against you in the end. Haha. Nevertheless, nice show...i've always like watching war storys. This is one...i wanna catch Curse of the Golden Flower next!

Voyeur! Turn on? Not this time

Monday, December 04, 2006

If you guys bought newpaper last saturday, you would have read about britney spears' zhao geng incident. She was caught by the paparazzi pantyless. I went to google it and i found the pictures haha. Its fucking disgusting. Apparently, she's not the first celeb to be caught going commando. There were also Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton. I looked them all up and seriously, all their pussies look damn weird lah.

Britney

Like one of the guy in the forum mentioned, "I never thought i could get sick of seeing a girls P.U.S.S.Y. BUt Lindsays is just....there now. its like.hey......there it is." And one of them commented that it kind of looks like the Predator's face when he takes his mask off. That comment made my day man..i laughed my head off.

I censored the pictures in case i get into trouble. Let me know if you want to see the real thing...but i would advise against it...its not for the faint hearted. I never thought that i would ever say this about a woman's private part...but hey it really looks disgusting.

Lindsay

Poor Britney...she used to be every young man's fantasy last time. Nevermind that curly fries Justin Timberlake ditched her. That still wasn't an excuse to choose loser of losers Kevin Federline. Whats more..she's fat and ugly now...a pity...what a pity...

Yong Bu Fang Qi Yong Wang Zi Qian...42.125km!

Sunday, December 03, 2006

Recently i took out a CD i had containing my Sega Genesis emulator with lots of ROMs and started playing again. Haha i really relived my childhood when i played games like Aladdin, Sonic the Hedgehog, Bare Knuckles, Dick Tracy, Golden Axe etc etc. I realised that some things don't change as you become older..and that is how good you are at games. I expected myself to complete these games in a breeze since i've become smarter haha but NO. I still couldn't complete the games that i couldn't as a kid and rather still continued dying at the same old stages haha. As a kid, i could never complete Aladdin, Dick Tracy and Sonic the Hedgehog...somehow or rather i would either always die at the big boss stage or something other stage. And since Sega didn't invent any memory cards to save games during that time, i would always have to start all over again each time i fail..it pisses me off but what to do.

Come to think of it..I have quite a blessed childhood actually. Except for the occasional canings i get from Mummy because i refuse to study or was mischievous, i was actually loved and doted on by most around me. And there's someone i should thank for the fact that i actually had so many games to play as a child. That person is none other than the person i affectionately call Ah Dio. He used to stay in my house but not anymore. Christmas used to be the favourite festival of the year and i will always look forward to Ah Dio bringing me and sis to Toy R Rus at Forum to buy toys. Because of him i had a sega genesis, sega game gear and even a nintendo gameboy as a child...something my mum will never get me haha. Not to forget also my Ah Kor who never fails to buy me new games whenever i get bored of those i have lol. Thank you all for helping me lead such a charmed life! I love all of you!

My Ah Dio with 2 of his smallest grandchildren

My Ah Kor with Terence and Brandon

Met up with Puss, Sham, Henry and Shawn yesterday for Saw 3! Not the usual group that would always hang out together but i had arranged to watch the show with Puss already when Sham and the rest asked if i wanted to watch the same show. So there we ended up watching the show together. Anyway Saw 3 was bad...really bad. The director concentrated on gruesome killings rather than the storyline. At the start of the show, there were already countless scenes that can really make me puke. We all regretted watching the show...should have watched Andy Lau's Battle of Wits lah haha.

After the show, we wanted to have a good meal before the gruelling day so we ended up at Marina Bay. When we got there, we realised that there isn't a single ATM around the whole place! Wth right? Got bowling alleys, food centers, car shops no ATM?! So we had to drive down to Shenton Way for some cash before we turned back.

Our food

Today was d-day. Puss stayed over the night before because he would otherwise have trouble getting there so early in the morning. I'm talking about the Standard Chartered Marathon. We were greeted by hordes of people when we arrived and didn't really have time to stretch properly before the flag off. In the middle of the run, somewhere at the 19-20km mark, i had a bad stomachache and so i ran off to the Kallang MacDonalds for the toilet. Apparently i wasn't the only one as there were a few others queueing up for the one cubicle there. Dammit...i wasted like 20mins there. Anyway, not that it mattered though, towards the end of the run, my legs were already in so much pain i thought they would break haha.

You might think that i'm insane to want to torture myself by going for this but hey you will never understand the satisfaction when you know you've completed one. This marathon also made me see the many different faces of Singaporeans. Many of them were really nice to encourage the runners by the side. They were also the eccentrics who did things that made me smile along the way. There was this band along East Coast Park that played so bad it made everyone laugh. There were also 4 ladies who set up a table along Tanjong Rhu and toasted to their champagne in the middle of the road in front of all the runners. Then there's this old man then suddenly shouted "Yong Bu Fang Qi Yong Wang Zi Qian" while i was running i started to burst out laughing. I think that means Stay focused don't give up. Not to forget..there were also the desperate and shameless...peeing along the road as if there were no ladies around haha.

We did it

Posing with our hard earned medals

The nice shirt that i'll be wearing quite often in time to come lol

I saw many friends along the way. There were friends from my BMT, Sispec, SI, SAJC, secondary school, church and poly. It was nice knowing that i was not the only one that wanted to torture myself. I guess some point in life, guys will want to join these sort of events..which explains the 30000 registrations this year lol. Anyway my legs are aching so badly now that everything i do now is in slow motion. I don't know how long i'll take to recover..i hope soon lah. Oh anyway i came in at 5 hrs 55 mins today..i practically ran for one quarter of my day today..quite amazing yeah. Give me a chance to play in the World Cup Finals now? I'll signal for substituition right after singing Majulah Singapura! Haha. Anyway 3 cheers to myself for completing this marathon! At least I didn't die! Wooh!

I finished in 5hrs 55mins...they all saw a winner!
